Appealing To The Youth

This is what Michael Ignatieff sees when he looks into the mirror.

"I want to be the leader who got this generation out to Zimbabwe, to Afghanistan, to the places where Canada can make a difference."

"The mission is a good Canadian mission, that is to support and defend a democratically elected government, the first democratically elected government Afghanistan has ever seen."

What the hell is he waiting for then? Why doesn't Michael Ignatieff pick up a gun and march his heroic ass off to Afghanistan?
Oh right! He'd rather send other people's children off to the slaughter.
I say there's a new rule in politics. If you support a push for war, you shouldn't be afraid to bleed with the troops you send to the front lines.
Great leaders die fighting for their cause.
Ignatieff is nothing but an old cowardly politcal amoeba. Somebody, quick, throw a pie in his face.

Hell No, We Won't Go!

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061119/ap_on_go_co/military_draft

So much for Rumsfeld's all-volunteer army. I guess current troop levels just won't be enough to take on Iran and North Korea, all while increasing the numbers of boots on the ground in Iraq.
Here comes the slaughter of the youth...

Why You Drink Fluoride

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Bernays

In Germany, as well as France, water fluoridation is forbidden.
Nazi and Soviet prison camps once used fluoride in their water to keep inmates docile.

In Canada, Brantford was the first city to receive fluoridated water.
Back in the 80's, while Britain was in recession, Thatcher supposedly spent millions fluoridating the water in Ireland.

As a child, I receieved fluoride treatments at school during grade 1 until my dentist noticed mild dental fluorosis and advised us to stop treatments.

What do you think about that?

Stranger than Fiction

It doesn't add up.
Cheney gone hunting the day of the elections, for the first time since he shot a guy in the face.
Republicans everywhere unable to stay on message.
The Foley scandal, Pastor Ted, Macaca, Hillary's facelift...
It's one giant list of royal fuck-ups from a GOP that once campaigned like a well-oiled machine...
There's something wrong here, like they've intentionally thrown the elections.
I remember seeing Bill Kristol on The Colbert Report where he stated quite frankly that a Republican White House in '08 relied on a Democratic House in '07.

This election was about the 'real' election in two years time.

More GOP tricks to come???

Change The World

In order to create change, we must have criticism. It may be good or bad, but I personally would rather put up with the bad in order to have a chance at attaining the good. The process of sharing opinions is a very productive one, it is the process that has shaped and molded us into who we are today. As an individual you may choose to share opinions on certain issues while keeping silent on others, and you may choose to listen and absorb these ideas or disregard them. This is healthy. Yet in an opinion, you must be a demonstration of it, unless the scale is much too large and therefore unreachable. When your opinion becomes only that the other opinion is wrong, regardless of your way of being, you enter judgment. Judgment is created by fear and this fear is created by non-existent beliefs and passions. I cannot think of anything else more frustrating than not having something to be passionate about. There are no rules, that's the beauty of it, yet some people are too afraid to believe in something. When you believe, you become vulnerable to other people in that belief. With this frustration rising, their beliefs become that everyone else's are wrong. This is the very thread that is unraveling our sweater. We require just the opposite, we need support, we need love and we need to gain back the imagination we had when we were young. When someone tells me something they are passionate about or something they truly believe in, I know this makes them happy, and that's what we need...happy people! So why not give them support! Everyone has different ideas on what is passionate, successful or productive, we need to be reminded of that. We are all still little kids, we want the magic to be there, everyone does, so why don't we work together to create it.
